What will the role involve?

You will lead and project manage assurance activities for key projects being managed by the Regulation team. Over the next 18 months, this will be focused on the next Price Review with our Regulator Ofwat. A Price Review is one of the ways that Ofwat regulates water companies in setting the price, investment and service package that customers receive. In a Price Review, we need to balance the interests of consumers with the need to make sure that our activities can be financed whilst ensuring we meet our legal, environmental and social obligations. A review of these price limits is carried out every five years. The next Price Review will be submitted in September 2018.

You will ensure that appropriate assurance is in place across the programme to ensure a high quality submission is produced. You will need to project manage all assurance activities to ensure levels of assurance, in line with the Yorkshire Water Assurance Plan. You will be responsible for leading, planning, coordinating, controlling and delivering all assurance activities for regulatory programmes. You may also provide project management support and advice to ensure any change to the business is fully planned, enacted and embedded.

As a member of the Regulation team, you will also be required to support other Regulatory team activities, for example, the planning, coordination, collation and submission of any regulatory submissions and reports to Ofwat.

We are looking for a dynamic and self-motivating team member who has the ability to work both independently and within the wider team.

What skills are we looking for?

The successful candidate will have previous experience of managing assurance activities and managing large/complex projects. You will have programme and project qualifications, for example MSP, Prince2, APM and an excellent knowledge on the importance of assurance with experience of running assurance activities in a programme.

You will have significant experience in the use of project management tools, techniques and process (for example project planning, budgeting, control, risk management and stakeholder management). You will also be able to develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships and be able to communicate and engage with people at all levels of an organisation. Within this role you will be managing one team member, therefore you will have previous experience of managing people.

You will be well organised, show attention to detail and will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

The role will be based in Bradford but will occasionally be required to visit other sites and locations in Yorkshire.
