Portfolio Analyst

Salary circa £30k depending on experience

APM is looking for an experienced Portfolio Analyst to provide portfolio analysis, administration and support services to the delivery of the APM portfolio of projects, comprising product, process and system development. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful applicant to contribute to the enhancement of APM’s project management and governance, in order to ensure that current and future projects within APM are delivered in line with established project governance.

The Portfolio Analyst will support and administrate project lifecycle processes, working collaboratively with the Portfolio team members to ensure APM’s Project Lifecycle is supported by required templates, examples and coaching documentation. You will work with project managers and business analysts to ensure that established process for risks, issues and change management in line with the project lifecycle methodology is implemented at the start of each project and maintained throughout the project. In addition, you will support and administrate APM’s Change Management processes, providing up to date change register logs to Change Approval Board members to support change review, approval/rejection and implementation.

The Portfolio Analyst will have 3+ years Portfolio Analyst experience and ideally be qualified to degree level, or equivalent in a relevant discipline, preferably education related or within Information Technology. It is essential that the successful candidate has a professional qualification or training in Portfolio Analyst roles such as APM, PMI or any other recognised qualification. You will have proven experience of supporting project teams and successful experience of initiating, establishing and administering project governance and life cycle processes. Knowledge of and familiarity with a membership/professional body would be advantageous.

Advanced IT skills and proficient use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint) and basic use of MS Project is a key requirement for this role, as is experience of on-line tools such as SharePoint. You will be a strong communicator with effective negotiation skills, able to work effectively across all levels of the organisation and pay attention to detail.
